Sing with JOY!

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Fill the glass to the brim and sing praises to the Lord as you drink in your endless serving of joy.

Praise music minsters to my heart in a way that nothing else can. Many of you may agree that music opens our hearts for worship. Throughout the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments, singing was a very prominent part of worship. According to Diane Dew, research shows that:

                  1.   Solomon's songs numbered 1,005.
                  2.   David had a choir of 288 voices.
                  3.   Worship in song marked many of the historical achievements of Israel…such as:
                          a. Moses and the Israelites at the crossing of the Red Sea.
                          b. Deborah and Barak at the defeat of Sisera.
                          c. David and all Israel at the bringing up of the ark of God.
                          d. The Levites at the foundation of the house of the Lord.
                          e. The dedication of the wall of Jerusalem.

I found it interesting that those who were exceptionally skillful were appointed to be songleaders.

AND YES….even Jesus and His disciples sang when gathered together.  Remember Matthew 26:30 (Mark 14:26)  "And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives."

Let’s start practicing, brothers and sisters, because we are going to be singing and praising the Lord for all eternity! Isn’t that a joyful thought?
