Have you had your Joy Juice today?
Strong faith in God leads to sweet joy in the Lord.
We’re talking this week about
“trust”. God gives us unlimited reasons
to trust Him. He is faithful; He is trustworthy. There are many examples in the
Bible of men and women who are excellent models for us. But what touches my heart and gives me such
hope, is that not one of them was perfect. They all made mistakes along the
way.
Isn’t it reassuring that God loves
us even when fail Him? He is always
ready to pick us up, dust us off and lovingly say, “Let’s try this again!” And
we don’t have to DO anything to earn His love.
Our works don’t get us to heaven….though they are an expression of our
love for Him.
Let’s look at Abraham. “He is
mentioned several times in the Bible for some of the great things he
accomplished, but Romans 4 says that he was saved because of his faith and not
because of his works. Hebrews 11 says that he followed God even though he was
not sure where he was going. Abraham is known as a man of faith who (obediently)
followed the Lord’s leading.” In other words, he trusted God completely.
We don’t have to be perfect.
We don’t need to “do” anything to earn God’s love. We can trust Him totally, obey Him joyfully,
and know that He has a plan and a purpose for our lives.
