Have you had your Joy Juice
today? Sing a song of joy….even if you
are not sure of the words!
When Papa Pat and I spend time with
our grandjoys, there is usually singing going on. Some songs are oldie-goldies and we know all
the words. But if we can’t remember, we
just make up a song as we go. To the delight of our little ones, they join in
with new versions of their own and we usually end up with a case of the
giggles.
Don’t you imagine that our Father
God smiles and enjoys our feeble attempts at singing to Him. He truly doesn’t care if we are on key,
whether the rhythm and beat are correct or even if we have the right words….if
our hearts are right with Him, filled with love, gratitude and joy, then He
delights in our praise songs.
Psalm
59:16 is a beautiful expression of how we should sing:
“But as for me, I shall sing of Your
strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the
morning. For You have been my stronghold
and a refuge in the day of my distress.”
How
true are those words! God is our strength; He blesses us continually with His
lovingkindness. He is our stronghold and
refuge….in good times & bad. Therefore, we should always have a song of joy
in our hearts.
Sing with joy…an old song or a new song or
one you make up as you go! God hears your heart and it brings Him much delight
when you sing praises to Him.
