Precious Joy

           Have you had your Joy Juice today?  A relationship with Jesus is more valuable than words can express……filled to overflowing with a special kind of joy! 

            One of the beautiful anthems that our church choir sings is called “More Precious”. The  lyrics speak of the treasures we have in knowing our Lord in a personal way.  Written by Lynn DeShazo, the song calls us to a deeper understanding of how we should value Him.

                 Sing these words in your heart:

Lord, you are more precious than silver.
Lord, you are more costly than gold.
Lord, you are more beautiful than diamonds,
And nothing I desire compares with you.

Who can weigh the value of knowing you?
Who can judge the worth of who you are?
Who can count the blessings of knowing you?
Who can say just how great you are?

            Do these words capture your heart’s love for God?  We should cherish and treasure the personal relationship that we are gifted with through God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Psalm 19:8-10 puts it beautifully: 

 "The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb."

            We are wealthy when we have the Joy of the Lord in our hearts!
