Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Set your heart
on the things that bring genuine joy to your life.
What do you
think about most often? On what things
do you continually focus? Is it your
problems or your blessings? Are you more
concerned about the needs of today or are you aiming toward eternity? Colossians 3:1 tells us what is most
important:
“Since, then, you
have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God.”
When our hearts are
set on heaven, we can rise above the problems of this world. We can look to Him
and know that our God lives and moves all around us. Setting our hearts on
things above releases us from the bondage of materialism and seeking after
selfish gain. The key to having a heart set on heaven is stepping back and
realigning all of our desires with heavenly gain in mind.*
Often we get so caught up in the urgent, necessary busyness
of our days, that we miss out on the truly important things—like spending time
in God’s Word and communicating with Him through prayer. When we allow the Holy
Spirit to come into our hearts, and we are intentional about “setting our
hearts on things above”, then we will experience an indescribable, glorious joy
that 1 Peter 1:8 tells us about.
Set your heart
on the joy of Jesus!
