Remain Faithful and Joyful

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  If you are finding yourself in a “dry spell”, remain faithful.

Every Christian, no matter how mature in their spiritual walk, finds himself/herself in a “dry spell” from time to time.  Let me describe what I mean by “dry spell”:

  • You don’t sense the warm presence of God.
  • There is no great yearning to read the Bible (Word of God).
  • You have no compulsion to pray.
  • You don’t hear Him speak to your heart.

David Wilkerson explains it like this:

        *  “Have you ever sat in church and watched those all around you getting blessed, while you feel nothing? They cry; they pray; they worship with tremendous feelings. But you are not moved upon - at all. You begin to wonder if there is something wrong with your spiritual life. Christians all around you are telling these great stories about how God is blessing them and answering all their prayers. They seem to live on a mountaintop of happy experiences, while you just plod along, loving Jesus, but not setting the world on fire. Some of your prayers have still not been answered.”

You might be in a dry spell!

But be encouraged! Even Jesus felt isolated at times. Remember Him crying aloud,  "Father, why have you forsaken me?"   And all the time, he was in the center of God’s perfect plan!

Let’s encourage one another to stay faithful, trusting that God does have a plan for each of us and that dry spells only last a while.  May each of us soon experience a fountain of joy saturating our hearts with His love.
