BUT I TRUST...

            Have you had your Joy Juice today?  It’s especially good when you are thirsty for a taste of JOY in the Lord!

            When we go through a spiritual “dry spell” and we don’t hear God speaking to us or see Him answering our prayers, what do we do?  What we SHOULD do is remain faithful; continue to obey His word. We should love God and love others. AND remember, it’s perfectly okay to cry out to God.

             In Psalm 13, David did just that!  He poured out his innermost thoughts and was totally transparent before the Lord.  Listen to his words in those six verses:
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
    How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
    and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
    How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
    Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
    and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love;
    my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
    for he has been good to me.

            Perhaps the 3 most important words in that passage are in verse 5: “BUT I TRUST….”

No matter what David was feeling, whether he heard the Lord speak to him or not, he continued to trust in God’s unfailing love.  THAT, my friend, is the sweet “taste” of JOY in the Lord.
