Have you had your Joy Juice today? When we abide with Christ, a foundation of
joy is there to help us stand strong in our faith.
Don’t you get a peaceful feeling when you
think about “abiding in Christ”? We know that’s a safe, loving, wonderful place
to be! John 15:4 gives us specific words
from Jesus. He says:
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of
itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in
Me.”
Such simple
words that should pierce our heart and direct our thoughts toward a more
personal relationship with Jesus. But as
powerful as those words are, often we choose not to be obedient to them. We assert our independence and think we can
take care of things ourselves. We boldly
move forward on a project or a major life change without consulting God….much
less, “abiding” in Him. We are frequently self-confident—to the point of
completely leaving God out of our decisions.
Jesus
pleads with us to “ABIDE IN ME…..” He loves us. He knows what is best for us.
He wants our lives to “go well’ and be abundantly blessed with the joy that
comes from being in the center of His will. His invitation to “abide” is just
that….an open invitation to “do life with Him”.
It’s our choice. Will we choose
joy…by consciously and intentionally making God our top priority?
Abide…and watch God provide…continual
blessings of joy.
