Have you had your Joy Juice
today? Sure hope you had a great Labor
Day and that you had a “break” from work!
Many of you may be back at work
today after the long Labor Day weekend! If so, are you thankful to be
back? Are you grateful for your job? Do
you praise the Lord that you are physically able to go to work? Sometimes we talk about work as a negative
thing, but let’s remember that God calls us to work and to serve him with our
labor. We are designed to be fulfilled
when we are working…whether it’s inside or outside the home.
Open the book of Genesis and it doesn’t
take long to see that the Garden of Eden was never a place of idleness. It was a place where mankind would work,
grow, and develop the things of God.
Genesis 2:15 says: “The
Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take
care of it.”
Just as God put Adam and Eve in the
Garden of Eden, He has placed you and me in our places of work and
service. If we will look at our
situation through the lens of His provision and goodness, then we will find
opportunities of service and joy…no matter where we are!
Though our works have
nothing to do with getting us to heaven, let’s never forget that work, itself,
is a blessing from God; and a way to serve Him and others as we spread His love
and joy!
