Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Let’s not just
TALK about joy….let’s live it!
In Isaiah
29:13 we read these words, “These people come near to me with their mouth and
honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” To me…that verse is sad! Because not only were
these words true when Isaiah wrote them many years ago….they also are true today, in many cases.
How many
times do we find ourselves playing the “joy in the Lord” game? We pretend that everything is okay; we put on
a happy face and go to church sometimes….maybe even regularly. We talk about God; we sing about His love on
Sundays. BUT do we truly honor Him in our hearts, 24-7?
There are
those who “know about” God with their head, their thoughts, their intellect—
yet they know nothing about a personal relationship with
Him. As the verse in Isaiah says: “their
hearts are far from God”. They can talk
the Christian talk, but it’s not backed up with their actions. Bible verses such as “Love one another” can
be recited, yet the life they lead does not exemplify God’s love.
Let’s each
pray sincerely and ask God to remove the scales from our own eyes. Let’s search our hearts and be honest about
this question: Do I come near to God with a committed heart and live a “joy-in-Jesus”
lifestyle? Or am I just a bunch of talk?
Talk
it! But walk it! Live it! And give it! (Joy that is!)
