Be Joyfully Obedient to the Great "I AM"

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  God has revealed to us that He wants us to experience His joyful plan for our lives.

Do you recall the story about Moses and the burning bush?  It’s found in the book of Exodus.  Moses had grown up in Egypt in the palace of the Pharaoh. When he was about 40 years old, he ran away from Egypt & spent the next 40 years on the backside of the desert with the Midianites. It was there that God worked on Moses and taught him what he would need to know to be a leader---to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.

One day Moses saw something very unusual…a bush that appeared to be on fire, but it wasn’t burning up. God spoke to Moses from that bush. Moses was afraid. God was calling him to service. Do you remember what Moses did?  He made excuses!

Finally, he relinquished to God’s call.  But he asked God to tell him what to say to the children of Israel. We find God’s answer in Exodus 3:14:  “God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

As Christians we are called to serve God. Will we, like Moses, try to make excuses? Or will we joyfully serve the Great I Am? Every Christian is called by God to serve …just in different ways. May we all serve God no matter where He places us.

Let’s listen to God as He speaks to our hearts and be joyfully obedient to the call of the Great “I AM”.
