The Blame Game

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Let the joy of the Lord saturate you with peace and boldness to face the day!

We all experience the unwanted, undesired, uncomfortable emotion called guilt. When we make wrong choices, our conscience kicks in and serves up a generous portion of that bitter reward! One way to avoid guilt completely would be to live a perfect life! REALITY CHECK! Not one of us can do that! Jesus was the one and only man who walked this earth that was perfection, personified.

So if we are not perfect---we will make wrong choices.  And we will experience guilt along the way. Some of us have learned to deal with guilt in our lives by using a technique that Adam and Eve used in the Garden of Eden.

Rob Renfroe (in his book The Joy Stealers) explains: “God placed Adam and Eve in a garden paradise. Everything was good. In fact, it was VERY good until they did the one thing God told them not to do.  Eve ate from the one tree that God had said was off limits. Then she gave the fruit to Adam, and he was only too happy to do what God had told him not to do.”  IN WALKS GUILT….and what did they do? They played the “Blame Game”.  Adam blamed Eve; Eve blamed the Serpent; Adam even blamed God for giving him Eve. Have you ever played that game?

Rather than choosing to blame others for our wrong choices, may we accept responsibility and seek God’s wisdom & the joy of forgiveness.
