Have you had your Joy Juice today? You don’t have to earn it….it’s yours for the
taking.
When Jesus spoke with the woman at
the well, as we read about in the 4th Chapter of John, she was
shocked that he would even acknowledge her.
She was a Samaritan, a member of
the hated mixed race (according to the explanation in my Life Application
Study Bible). She was also known to be living in sin and
was in a public place…all things that made her non-approachable and sinful in
the eyes of most. No respectable Jewish
man would lower his standards and talk to a woman under such circumstances. BUT
Jesus was not just “any Jewish man”. HE
DID speak to her….with a genuine heart of compassion and love.
The
Gospel is for every person, no matter what his or her race, social position, or
past sins. We must be prepared to share the ‘good news’ at any time and in any
place. Jesus crossed all barriers to
share the gospel, and we who follow him must do no less.” (Life Application
Study Bible footnote)
Do we respond to people of different
cultures with the love and compassion of Jesus?
What an example and role model He is for us! And wouldn’t our world be a
more peaceful, kind, and unified world if we would follow His example?! He tells us in 1 John 4:7:
“Beloved, let us love one another,
for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”
Let’s
follow Jesus along His Path of Unity & Joy.
