Have you had your Joy Juice
today? It’s such a comfort to those who
are hurting.
Regardless of our stage of life, we
all suffer from hurts. Physical pain is
awful…but emotional pain can devastate. Each of us knows what it’s like to have
our hearts broken; to be disappointed with people; to feel betrayed. When we lose a loved one, we are emotionally
burdened. Where do we go when we find
ourselves in a “valley”? There is only
one source of true comfort and though we can’t step back into time and change
things, we can step forward into God’s arms of comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3-6 is reassuring: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so
that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive
from God.”
When we seek
the comfort of God, we will not necessarily be relieved of our pain. Our
troubles won’t automatically go away. Being comforted by God means receiving
His strength to push through the difficult time. His comfort brings us
encouragement and hope that things will get better. Be assured that God’s
comfort is always available. When we
receive His comfort then we are more able to pass along that comfort to others.
Comfort others by experiencing the personal joy of God’s comfort.
