Have
you had your Joy Juice today? Honestly….are
you a consistent partaker of the joy offered through a genuine relationship
with Jesus?
Honesty
is an integral part of integrity. Two
verses that remind us of that are found in Proverbs.
“The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of
the unfaithful will destroy them.” (Proverbs 11:3)
And then in Proverbs 12:22: “Lying lips are an abomination
to the LORD, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.”
Does
God delight in your honesty and integrity? Writer Rick Ezell describes honesty as being
like a boomerang. He said: “Our words,
along with who we are, always travel full circle. Every time individuals engage in dishonest
activities of any kind, the results come back to haunt them. Just ask any politician about skeletons in
the closet.”
Let’s not just pick on
politicians! We ALL have dirty laundry. Each
of us has fallen short of the truth. But
we can start fresh today! Let’s speak words of truth…so that we don’t have to
worry about covering our tracks of dishonesty. Genuine integrity is saturated
with God’s grace and a mature relationship with Christ. He’s our role
model. Jesus was never bashful about
speaking the truth…but he spoke that truth in love.
May
the words we speak from this day forward be filled with truth, integrity and
joyful encouragement.
