Have you had your Joy Juice today? Being a man or woman, boy
or girl of your word says that you are a person of integrity.
One
such person of integrity was George Washington, the first president of the
United States. Before leaving Mount Vernon to assume the presidency, he wrote these words:
“Integrity and firmness is all I can promise—these, be the voyage long or
short; never shall forsake me although I may be deserted by all men.”
Washington
was highly trusted and admired by his peers. Why? Because of his character!
They trusted him to keep his word…because he had always done so and proved
himself faithful and trustworthy.
David
Jeremiah says, “Keeping your word is a cornerstone to integrity, and people
around you will know it and respect it.
Integrity means all parts of your character are unified by faithfulness
to truth. Breaking your word breaks that
unity, and the shattered pieces of character fall away like shards of broken
pottery.”
Some of
our friends may tease us and call us “cracked pots”…but we don’t want to be a
person who breaks our word and shatters unity. David said it beautifully in Psalm 133:1: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in
unity!”
Keep your word, live in unity and share the joy of the Lord!
