Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Give your
enemy an extra serving of joy.
When people
don’t like us, don’t agree with our beliefs, talk about us behind our back, betray us or our family members….we may see
them as our “enemy”. We all have them,
though we don’t like to admit it. It’s hard to be kind to negative people,
isn’t it?
Writer Simone
Williams suggests five Godly ways to deal with our enemies:
1.
Take the matter to God. He always has a much
better plan than we do!
2.
Avoid conflict if possible –As soon as we see it
raising its head – walk away.
3.
Don’t hold a grudge. As hard as it is….LET IT
GO!
4.
Don’t try to get back at the person. Getting
even does nothing but escalate the conflict.
5.
Continue doing good to/for that person. God
commands in Proverbs 25:21:”If your
enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to
drink; for you will heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord will reward
you.”
In other words, our
kindness and love will confuse him/her. At the same time, we must also remember
that these very actions, as difficult as they may be, are the ones that will
demonstrate the love of Christ.
Pray for and release your enemies to God…and be prepared for a
special flavor of joy.
