Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Being in
relationship with Jesus brings joy…along with wisdom in how to handle our daily
battles.
We hear the
advice often to “choose your battles wisely.” What does that mean? Author and speaker Susie Larson explains it
like this: “We humbly stay in step with Jesus and consider Him our greatest
Defender. We hold ourselves to the high
standard that He modeled for us. We
determine ahead of time which conflicts are beneath us. We put safeguards
around our hearts and minds, and we keep our lives free from the clutter of
gossip, drama and pettiness.”
That’s a
tall order, isn’t it? And I’m pretty
sure that it’s impossible in our own strength.
Day by day…sometimes, minute by minute…we will have to pray for Godly
wisdom, especially when the enemy attacks. We want to be prepared for “battle”,
dressed in His armor and filled with His wisdom. But we must first determine
which battles we are not called to fight at all.
According
to Susie Larson, “A high percentage of the conflicts in which we find ourselves
are not God-ordained battles; they are potholes in our path, prepared for us by
the enemy. They will trip us up, steal
our time, drain our joy, and take us from the higher road, if we allow them to.
The sooner we learn to walk around such traps, the sooner we will get on to the
better things in life.

your battles over to the Lord and find joy in relinquishment.
