Have you had your Joy Juice today? It’s the drink that truly satisfies!
There are
countless lessons that we can learn from observing the innocent behavior of
newborn babies. Often these little ones
are showered with gifts, but the truth is---they could care less what’s in the
beautifully wrapped packages or whether the gift is tied with ribbons of pink
or blue. They only care about the
basics…food, sleep and comfort. And, of
course, lots of love.
When a baby
has his tummy full, is wearing a clean diaper and is sleeping in his mommy’s
loving arms, he is completely satisfied.
In the same way, when we are spiritually fed by feasting on the Word of
God and we make Godly choices so as to stay pure and clean, we can rest
contently in our Father’s loving arms.
In 1 Peter
2:2-3 we are admonished: “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual
milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted
that the Lord is good.”
Do we crave pure spiritual milk? When
we first accept Christ as our Savior, we
become spiritual newborns. If we are spiritually
healthy, we will yearn to grow. How sad
it is that some people never desire to grow up.
When we see our need for God’s Word and begin to find nourishment in
Christ, our spiritual appetite will increase, and we will start to mature. (Life
Application Bible footnote.)
May we crave the pure spiritual milk of
God’s Word and grow up to enjoy the taste of concentrated Joy Juice!
