Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Drink up and
get ready for the “Good News” of great JOY!
Christmas
is coming….ready or not! Instead of dreading all the busyness, let’s spend time
looking for the JOY that is present throughout the Christmas story. Remember how surprised Mary was when the
angel came to her? Let’s read the passage of scripture from Luke 1: 29 -31.
“Mary
was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might
be. But the angel said to her, “Do not
be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him
the name of Jesus. He will be great and
will be called the Son of the Most High.”
At first
Mary was afraid! But the angel reassured
her that she didn’t need to fear…that through her God’s Son, Jesus the Messiah
would come! What good news! But can you
imagine her bewilderment!?
Mary was young, poor, female---all
characteristics (as my Bible footnote
explains) that to the people of her
day would make her unusable by God for any major task! But God chose Mary for
one of the most important acts of obedience…ever.
You may feel that your ability, experience or
education makes you an unlikely candidate for God’s service. Don’t limit God’s choices! He can use you…if you trust Him.
Share
a double portion of the GOOD NEWS with others! It will prepare your heart and
theirs for special Christmas JOY!
