Have
you had your Joy Juice today? Make sure
that your sweet joy doesn’t turn into a bitter drink!
The
subject of bitterness has come to my attention several times lately. I began to examine my own heart to see why
God might be bringing this spiritually taboo subject to the forefront of my
mind and thoughts. You know what? As I
put myself under the magnifying glass, I began to see roots that were not very
sweet.
In Ephesians 4:31 we are commanded to “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and
anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”
Bitterness
is like garbage….it stinks! Especially if we neglect it for a while! It begins
to take over and infiltrate every area of our life. We don’t want to become so accustomed to the offensive
“smell” that we don’t even realize it’s there! Other people certainly notice!
How
do we get rid of this unattractive, noisome trait? We must confess and repent of the bitterness
in our heart so that the Lord can bring us to a better place of knowing Him.
When we get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and malice….as the
scripture commands, then we will have a lot more room in our hearts for God’s love
and joy!
Be
assured that the genuine Joy Juice from Jesus tastes sweet…never bitter!
