Many people look forward to summer when the
kids are out of school and the normal routine changes a bit. Throughout the school year, students dream
about summer vacation when they can take a break from the studying, tests and
all the school work that keeps them busy.
Maybe they can sleep a little later and do fun activities like camp or going
to the swimming pool. Some may visit
grandparents or go on a trip. No matter
what we decide to do for our ‘vacation’, we can agree that it means taking a
break from the normal routine…time to refresh, re-energize and catch our breath!

The wonderful truth is….He has never needed a sabbatical. He never grows weary. Listen to the words of Isaiah in Chapter 40,
verse 28:
“Have you not heard? The Lord is
the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary.”
What an
encouragement to know that our God is always on call! He never leaves an answering machine or voice
mail to take our messages. He’s always
there to talk with us personally. That
should bring JOY to our day whether we’re on vacation or not!
