Wisdom and Joy

Have you had your Joy Juice today? If you’re running a little short on “joy”, then open the pages of your Bible and you will find heaping servings….just for you!

As Christians, we should desire to leave a legacy. I like to call it a legacy of joy.  Solomon, one of the wisest men who ever lived, left us a legacy in the form of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon. Why do these books hold so much wisdom?  Because they were written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Today let’s look into the book of Proverbs. It is packed full of wisdom regarding a wide range of topics. But the bottom line is that knowing God….really knowing Him personally…is the key to wisdom.  That is clear from the very first chapter. Proverbs 1:7 says: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”

At our fingertips, we can find information in an instant….through books, through social media, and a variety of resources.  We can google most anything and find answers to our questions. But we must remember that the foundation of knowledge should be to respect and honor God; to live in awe of His power and goodness;  to be obedient to His commands and instructions. When we completely trust in GOD—then we will receive wisdom. That’s how to leave a joyful legacy.

Wisely drink in the joy of Jesus and leave a legacy of wisdom and joy.
