Discernment Leads to Joy in the Lord

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  I certainly hope that you’ve discerned drinking in God’s joy is a part of His good plan.

In his book When the Enemy Strikes, Charles Stanley points out four aspects of discernment which he calls “vitally important for us to recognize”:

1.       Discernment between good and evil
2.       Discernment between what is real and what is illusion
3.       Discernment between what is good and what is best
4.       Discernment between our desires and God’s plan.

Today, let’s examine the subject of discerning between good and evil. With all that’s been going on in our world lately, we can agree that the enemy is truly at work to erase the boundary lines between good and evil.  Laws are changing and guidelines shifting which bring confusion and chaos. To stay grounded, we need to make sure we are on a steady, daily diet of God’s Word…which, by the way,  NEVER changes.  If we are committed to following God’s commandments, He will give us wisdom and discernment between good and evil.

1 Corinthians 15:33-34 says: “Evil company corrupts good habits. Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God.”

May we pray for one another as we pray for ourselves to be discerning; may we “awake to righteousness” and overflow with joy in the Lord.
