A Pure, Joyful Heart

Have you had your JOY JUICE today?  When God looks into your heart, does he see genuine joy?

What if people could tell what you were thinking every minute?   Would you be pleased with what they would learn about you?  If we are honest, most of us would admit that many of our thoughts, we certainly do not want others to know! We can hide our thoughts from other people, but God knows all.  We may be able to mislead people….but there’s no fooling God!

In 1 Chronicles 28:9 (NIV) we read:  “…the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts.  What does He find when He searches your heart? Genuine love, authenticity, transparency?  Or does He see a counterfeit?  A phony?

Dan Delzell, writes: “God is looking at that place inside you where your mind is constantly weighing various options. This means He is looking at more than just your behavior. He is looking at why you do what you do. That goes to the level of the heart.
After his sins of murder and adultery, King David needed a new heart. But he knew that he was not capable of providing it for himself. So he asked God to do it as he prayed these words, "Create in me a pure heart, O God." (Psalm 51:10) The word "create" is hugely significant. It reveals the fact that David knew he was powerless to fix his own heart. It was too messed up.”

May we give our heart to God and ask Him to create in us a pure heart, filled with His joy!
