Forgiveness = Letting Go and Letting God Give You JOY

Have you had your JOY JUICE today?  It has healing power….just like forgiveness is heals an angry spirit!

When we’ve been hurt by someone and are angry with them, it’s not always easy to move ahead.  We often hold on to the hurt, replay it in our minds, cherish our right to be angry with them for what they have done! Forgiveness….let’s talk about that today!  According to Charles Stanley:

·        Forgiveness is NOT saying that nothing bad happened! It is not denial.
·        Forgiveness is NOT saying that the injured party felt no pain.
·        Forgiveness is NOT saying that there should be no negative consequences for the offending party.

Forgiveness is very simply “letting go”.  It is refusing to hold the person in the prison of your own heart.  Forgiveness is releasing everything related to what the offender did and leaving his or her punishment up to God.

Are you willing to forgive others…regardless of how deeply you have been hurt? When you refuse to forgive, you are the one who is hurt most.  To be emotionally free, we MUST forgive.

Ephesians 4:32 says: “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”  Consider how God forgives us….how Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins.  If He can do that, can we not forgive one another?!

May we allow God to work through us and help us to forgive others as Christ has forgiven us.
