Have you had your Joy Juice
today? Make sure the words you speak are
filled with joy and encouragement.
We’ve
talked this week about how to have the joy of the Lord regardless of what’s
going on in our life. We’ve discussed
how important it is to have a relationship with God so that we can trust Him to
catch us when life’s rug is jerked out from under us. Today let’s talk about the power of our
words.
There are
many biblical truths that tell us to guard our tongues, but many times we lose
sight of them and react in anger or in selfishness. At times, hateful, foolish words escape our
lips before we even think. And once
those words are out, they can never be taken back.
How can we
make sure our words build up and edify others?
That’s what most of us really would like to do, but it’s a fact that we are
human and we make mistakes. That’s why it so important to ask for God’s help!
The Bible tells
us to “pray without ceasing”. That means
·
pray when we wake each morning,
·
pray as soon as our feet hit the floor
·
pray as we brush our teeth and get ready for the
day
·
We should pray as we drive or ride, at work or
at home or wherever we go.
·
In other words, we should pray every opportunity
we have! That’s what is meant by being in a spirit of prayer. We will find ourselves making choices that
will glorify God, as well as bringing joy into the lives of those around
us.
Use your words to spread His joy….and ask
God’s guidance with every step of your day.
