Have you
had your Joy Juice today? If your wagon
is draggin’ this morning, you may need an extra serving!
Did you
wake up refreshed from a good night’s rest, or are you tired before you even
begin your day? If you’re already
feeling exhausted, may I suggest that you examine your schedule and see if you
have included time with the Lord?
Not enough time? We do have family
responsibilities, job obligations and appointments of various kinds. But it’s
so important to realize that our spiritual condition should be a priority!
When we’re weary and tired
physically, every area of our life is affected! Our patience runs thin, and we
find ourselves snapping instead of responding in love. Our thought process slows down and we have
difficulty focusing & making good decisions. Often, physical exhaustion leads to a
breakdown in our health, and our immune system is weakened.
Sometimes
our physical condition is linked to our spiritual health. We should get in the habit of including “time
with God” on our daily list of “Things to do”.
It’s like a “booster” or “vitamin” of sorts. Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that “The JOY of the
Lord is our strength.” God has given us
His Word which provides truth and instruction about His gifts of rest, renewal
and strength.
As we examine our schedules, let’s make sure
that Bible study and prayer are on the top of our list. Growing in our relationship with Jesus is the
way to assure that we’re energized with His JOY throughout our busy days.
