Essential Oil of Joy

            Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Have you ever used the essential “oil of joy”!

Several times in the Word of God we read about the “oil of joy” or the “oil of gladness”.  In Isaiah 61:3 reference is made to “bestow(ing) on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,

the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” In Psalm 45:7 and in Hebrews 1:9 the scriptures say:  “You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy."

Do you consider the oil of joy to be essential in your life?  If so, you are sure to leave a wonderful legacy.Authors Dennis and Barbara Rainey teach that when couples pray together, God will use them to accomplish His purposes. They share these words of wisdom: “As recorded in 1 Chronicles 4:10, Jabez prayed,

“Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested."

What did Jabez ask God to do? Bless him… Give him new turf and enlarge his sphere of influence. Keep him from temptation. Stay with him.” 

Can we still pray this way today?  You bet we can!  And when we do, we will find more and more joy along our path….as we strive to leave a Godly legacy and influence our part of the world for Jesus.
