Have you had your Joy Juice
today? The joy of the Lord is fresh
every day, but it is something that you can pass down from generation to
generation.
One of my
heart’s greatest passions is to leave a legacy of joy. To teach and speak and live a genuine life
which radiates the joy of the Lord. I’m
sure that many of you have that same desire.
How do we leave this kind of legacy for our children and grandchildren?
The kind of legacy that can be passed along to generations to come?
Dennis and
Barbara Rainey wrote a beautiful article entitled “Five Essentials to Leaving a
Legacy that will Outlive You”. Number
one on their list is something that certainly should be our top priority:
·
Fear the Lord and obey Him.
Your legacy
begins in your heart, in your relationship with God. Psalm 112:1-2 reads: "How blessed is the man who fears the
LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty
on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed."
Many of us have wonderful
memories of our grandparents. If you were blessed with Godly, Christian parents
and grandparents, you need to thank the Lord daily for the example they lived
out before you. Though none of us is
perfect, the important thing is that the truths of scripture be taught and applied
on a consistent basis. Lay a foundation of joy for future generations to build
upon.
Be passionate about leaving your own
personal legacy….a legacy of joy in the Lord!
