Have
you had your Joy Juice today? I believe
it’s a good habit to drink in the Joy of the Lord consistently.
Romans 15:13 (ESV) says: “ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Did you hear the words “with all
JOY and peace in BELIEVING”? Joy and
peace are gifts that God gives us when we believe in Him and His Kingdom. Joy
and peace in our hearts promote a cheerful unity with other believers. Matthew
Henry’s commentary explains: “How
desirable this joy and peace are: they are filling. Carnal joy puffs up the
soul, but cannot fill it; therefore in laughter the heart is sad. True,
heavenly, spiritual joy is filling to the soul; (it has a satisfaction in it,
answerable to the soul’s vast and just desires. Thus does God satiate and
replenish the weary soul.”
Our God is a God of hope…but that
is only meaningful to us when we allow Him to have control of our lives because
of our belief in Him. When we whole-heartedly believe in His sovereignty, we
will experience that joy and peace mentioned in scripture. Until we personally
experience it, we cannot understand it….and even when you experience it, words
are never adequate enough to describe it!
“May the God of hope fill YOU will all joy and peace in believing………”
