Worry Can Steal Our Joy

Have you had you Joy Juice today?  When you find yourself fretting, look to Jesus for a calming portion of His joy.

Priscilla Shirer writes: “Worry is not only fruitless, but it steals our joy and jams our radar, keeping us from receiving the answers we need.”  What a powerful reminder! Worrying doesn’t help a thing! It only makes us anxious and give the devil a foothold in our lives.  It blocks our communication with God, and siphons the joy right out of our heart.

Do you believe in the truth of Scripture?  God’s Word is infallible! And there are many verses in the Bible that tell us not to worry and fret.  Philippians 4:6 plainly instructs: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

When we choose to pray rather than pout; when we decide to release rather than reposition our grip; when we praise the Lord for His goodness, instead of pointing out our problems…than we can “rejoice in the LORD, always!”

Let’s not be held captive by worry and anxiety. Release those past mistakes, ask for forgiveness and the strength to make wise choices.  God will go with you every step of the way, so there is no reason to fret—and the best reason to be joyful.

Extinguish the fire of worry by splashing it with the Joy Juice of Jesus!
