His blessings of joy into your life.
Prayer
is powerful. Hundreds of times in the
Bible we are instructed to pray. Prayer
is the way to draw close to God, to pour out our hearts to Him and come before
the Throne of Grace.
In 1 Chronicles 4:10 we find the Prayer of Jabez:
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel,
"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be
with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God
granted his request. Notice that Jabez was not asking for material blessings. Rather, he desired for God to enlarge his territory in order to share his faith with more people. With that in mind, let’s pray our own such prayer.
“Oh, Father, that you would bless us with opportunities to share your joy with others. Please enlarge our territory FOR YOU! Open doors and give us boldness to tell people about the genuine joy of Jesus. Let your hand be with us…your righteous right hand…to empower us to keep on keeping on, even when we grow tired & weary. Keep us from harm; and may we be careful not to inflict pain onto others by our careless words or actions. Help us, Father, to be energized and renewed each day to share a double portion of your love and joy! May God grant this request. AMEN
