Have you had your Joy Juice today? God persistently calls us with His message of
joy. Are we hearing Him clearly?
Cornelia
"Corrie" ten Boom (15 April 1892 – 15 April 1983) was a Dutch
watchmaker
and Christian
who, along with her father and other family members, helped many Jews escape
the Nazi
Holocaust
during World War II.
She was imprisoned for her actions. Yet, throughout her captivity she clung to
her belief in God and grew deeply in her relationship with Him.
In her
words: “The LORD leads us through His
Word, through feelings and through circumstances, and mostly through all three
together. It is such a wonderful
experience when the Lord speaks through our feelings and our thinking when we
pray and listen to the Lord. The prayer becomes then a conversation from both
sides. We must expect that the Lord acts
according to His promises and leads us on His way.”
What
wisdom! From one who was imprisoned in concentration camps and subjected to all
kinds of mistreatment. Yet she praised
the Lord for the joy she had through her relationship with Him. Could we do the
same in those circumstances? Even when we have minor inconveniences, many of us
question God and lose our joy. Isaiah
45:3 offers much hope: “I will give you treasures hidden in the
darkness—secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the
God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.”
Call
to Him and receive His message of joy which will sustain you through the dark
times, as well as the good.
