Have
you had your Joy Juice today? Let’s make
a plan……a plan to “be joyful” as we pursue our purpose in life.
We’ve
talked a lot this week about discernment…the ability to hear God’s leading and
make wise choices; to see clearly with God’s vision what His best plan is for
us. We need to pray for God to clearly lead us with discernment between good
and evil, between what is real and what is illusion, between what is good and
what is best. Today, let’s discuss discernment between our desires and God’s
plan. That’s a really hard one for many
of us…because we KNOW what our hearts’ desires are and we are right ready to
tell God how to do it!
The
truth is….we do not have the wisdom to know what’s best. It’s difficult to
release control and simply trust God. From
a very young age, our culture teaches us to begin thinking about “what we will
be when we grow up”. We think we’ve got
to have a good answer for that question…early in our youth.
What a
difference we might see in our world, if we were to teach our young people to
pray more, to seek God’s wisdom and leading in what He created them to be.
Charles Stanley says that “God’s plan for us is the plan that will fit us
perfectly. It will excite us the most and bring us the greatest feelings of
meaning and satisfaction.” In other words, when you are in the center of God’s
plan for your life, you will experience the most joy.
Indeed, “God has a plan to prosper you; a plan to give you hope and a
future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Ask God to
reveal that joyful plan, one step at a time.
