Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Slow and
steady…drink in His joy.
How many of
you remember Aesop’s fable about the tortoise and the hare? Here’s a quick
version:
There once was a speedy hare who bragged about how fast he could run. Tired od hearing him boast, the tortoise....named Slow & Steady....challenged him to a race. All the animals in the forest gathered to watch. Hare rand down the road for while and then paused to rest. He looked back at Slow & Steady and cried out, "How do you expect to win this race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace?"
Hare stretched himself out alongside the road and fell asleep, thinking, "There is plenty of time to relax." Slow & Steady walked and walked. He never, ever stopped until he came to the finish line. The animals who were watching cheered so loudly for Tortoise, they woke up Hare. Hare began to run again, but it was too late! Tortoise had crossed the finish line. After that, Hare always reminded himself, "Don't brag about your lightening pace, for Slow & Steady won the race!"

How can we apply that to the Christian race of life? Sometimes we may compare ourselves to others and feel that we are not be able to run as fast and accomplish as much. We may even become discouraged. We must understand that if we will remain “slow and steady” in Christ, aiming toward the prize of eternity with Him…then we are running the race joyfully well. |
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked
out for us.” (Hebrews 12:1). Run
the race faithfully & with joy.
