Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Drink up and take a peek inside your closet! Did you
have trouble this morning trying to decide what to wear? Many of us would have to admit that we have
stood in our jam-packed closets and uttered the statement: “I don’t have a thing to wear!”
Let me tell
you a true story that puts this into perspective. My husband and I had the
privilege of going on a mission trip to Nicaragua a few years ago. We visited orphanages that were filled with
some of the most grateful, loving, precious children! They weren’t worried about what they would
wear tomorrow….for they only had one change of clothes. They didn’t need a closet; all their earthy
belongings sat on a common shelf beside the pallets they slept on…on the dirt
floor.
You see, we
choose to worry and fret over so many unnecessary things…instead of being
grateful for what we have and trusting God to supply our needs.
Jesus
reminds us in Matthew 6:28-30: “ And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow… not even Solomon in all his splendor was
dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,…
will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith!”
May I
suggest that we all step inside our closets for a time of prayer and
thanksgiving? God has supplied…and will
continue to give us what we need. So,
put on your JOY JACKET and share this good news with everyone you see!
Be grateful for God’s generous blessings of
joy.
