Have you had
your Joy Juice today? If not…don’t
worry! There’s plenty still left in the
Joy Jug!
We have all kinds of things that we could choose
to worry about: our finances, our job, our family, our health.
In Matthew
7:25, Jesus specifically talks about worry. He begins by saying: “Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about
your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.”
Jesus was
teaching that worry is never necessary. Why? Because HE will supply all our
needs. Anxiety and worry negatively
affect all areas of our life. When “worry”
becomes a habit, it can damage our health; we can become consumed with anxiety---allowing
fearful thoughts to disrupt our life, negatively affecting our relationships
and ultimately, our trust in God.
Sure, we
have many legitimate concerns. But there is a difference in being concerned
about something and worrying about it.
Worry immobilizes; concern moves us into action.
Let’s ask
ourselves….are we fretting and feeling paralyzed with fear? OR are we springing into action by praying
and seeking God’s guidance in all situations?
When we allow Him to carry our burdens, the heaviness of stress and
worry immediately lightens. That’s when the JOY of the Lord becomes our
strength! (Nehemiah 8:10)
Empty
your heart of anxiety and worry; and make room to be filled with God’s joy.
