Have
you had your Joy Juice today? Encourage others
to drink in the joy of the Lord.
Why do we
need to be encouragers to those around us?
I can think of several reasons:
- It builds them up and makes then realize they have worth.
- It demonstrates a caring attitude.
- When you encourage others, you are displaying a genuine Christian example.
- Regardless of age, EVERYONE needs an encouraging word.
- The world would be a much better place if we all determined to be encouragers!
BUT THE MAIN REASON we should want to be an encourager is
simply because “The Bible tells us so”!
Just as the classic children’s song says: “Jesus loves me this I
know..for the Bible tells me so”. The
Bible also tells us to ENCOURAGE one another!
Often in the Word of God we find instructions
such as these:
“Therefore encourage one another and edify one another, just as you are
doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11
In Hebrews 3:13 we read: “But
encourage one another daily as long as it is called today, so that none of you
may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness."
God tells us to
“encourage one another”! Are we being
obedient? We may be surprised at how much JOY we can share and
how encouraged we will be, when we become God’s “encouraging mouthpiece”!!!
Let's be reminded of the importance of sharing the joy
of encouragement.
