Run Toward the Prize of Everlasting Joy

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Your body needs pure, concentrated JOY in order to be prepared for the race of life!

When people enter a race, most do it with the intentions of trying to reach the finish line.  The one who wins the prize has been diligent in preparation and consistent training.

1 Corinthians 9:24 asks: “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way as to get the prize.” What was the “prize” that Paul was referring to in this passage?  Our heavenly reward!

The footnote in my Bible explains:"Winning a race requires purpose and discipline.  Paul used this illustration to explain that the Christian life takes hard work, self-denial, and many times, grueling preparation.  As Christians, we are running toward our heavenly prize.  The essential disciplines of prayer, Bible study, and worship equip us to run with renewed energy and stamina.  Don’t be half-hearted in your training. Train diligently---your spiritual progress depends on it.(Footnote in Life Application Study Bible)

Let’s set our eyes on the finish line!  When our goal is pleasing God, all the running and training will be worth it; at the end of the race, we will JOYFULLY receive an eternal, imperishable reward.

Run toward the prize that will give you everlasting joy.
