Have you had your Joy Juice
today? Keep in mind that the Lord’s
Fountain of Joy never runs dry.
Each of us has our own set of
challenges. It may be financial
difficulties, loss of a job or trouble at the workplace; maybe it’s family
issues or sickness or the devastating loss of a loved one. No matter our age or gender, we all find
ourselves at one time or another facing hard circumstances.
In her book, Expecting to See
Jesus, Anne Graham Lotz writes: “Sometimes
God wraps His glory in hard circumstances or ugly obstacles or painful
difficulties, and it just never occurs to us that within those life-shaking
events is a fresh revelation from Him.”
As we
ponder these wise words, we must realize that our God is a good God and though
we must face the certain pain that the reality of life brings, He has our best
interest at heart. His unconditional, unending love for us, His children, is
always available. Perhaps a good passage
to read and meditate on and even memorize would be the verses that David wrote
in Psalm 40:1-3:
“I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned
to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me
out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and
gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God….”.
Waiting patiently is not an easy thing to do; but know that a “new song
of joy” is coming and we can trust the Lord.
