Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Choose to drink in the joy of Jesus rather than revel
in the rage of revenge.
Our world teaches us that we have rights; we
are to take up for ourselves & defend every bad thing that is said or done
to us. Though God does want us to stand firm in our faith and defend what is
right, there are times when we are to be still, be quiet and trust God to take
care of the situation.
Rick
Renner, author and pastor explains it like this: “As you face your own challenges in life,
always keep in mind that Jesus has the power to fix any problem you’ll ever
come across. Before you jump in and make
things worse by taking matters into your own hands, remember the story of Peter
in Luke 22. The next time you’re tempted
to “grab a sword and start swinging’, take a few minutes to remind yourself
that Jesus can handle the problem without your intervention. Before you do anything else, pray and ask the
Lord what you are supposed to do.”
At times
God tells us to speak up! And at other times, He says, “I’ve got this! You just
‘be still and know…’. Pray for wisdom to know the difference and to hear Him as
He reveals His plan to you. Decide ahead
of time what kinds of conflicts to avoid….those that involve pettiness, gossip
and drama that gets us nowhere but agitated. May we stay humbly in step with
Jesus.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and
lean not on your own understanding.” (Prov. 3:5) Uncontaminated trust leads to overflowing joy.
