Have
you had your Joy Juice today? You’re
drinking it now? Hope it’s a great big “grownup”
portion!
Babies
drink milk. As they grow, they are
weaned from a bottle to a cup and eventually can have soft foods. It’s only when they mature that they begin to
enjoy solid food.
The author
of Hebrews talks about baby Christians needing “milk”. In Chapter 5, verses 13
& 14 he says: “Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant ,is not acquainted with
the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by
constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
In order to grow from infant
Christians to mature Christians, we must learn discernment…that’s distinguishing good from evil. But how do we do that? James tells us in Chapter 1; verse 5…..”If
any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all.” In other words, we should seek wisdom
and discernment by hungering and thirsting after God.
So as you pour
yourself a large serving of Joy Juice today, don’t use a baby bottle or even a
sippy cup! Open your heart to a “mature
portion” of His wisdom, discernment and JOY that He wants to personally serve
you today.
Drink in the joy of Jesus
and eat the nourishing meat of the Word of God.
