Have you had your Joy Juice today? As you share with others, pass along words of
encouragement and joy.
If we
profess to be a Christian, we must remember that we are representatives of
Christ…ambassadors of His Kingdom. That
is a great responsibility and we can only represent Him…the God of love and
compassion….if we, too, exhibit Godly love and compassion. That’s easy to do when we are around people
we love and enjoy. But what about those
who do harm to us, who hurt us, who ridicule and belittle us? The Bible tells us that we should “love our
enemies”. THAT is not always an easy
command to follow!
Proverbs 18:21 says: “Death and life are in the power of the
tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” We can “love our enemies” by saying good
things to them; by saying good things about them even when they are not around;
speaking blessings and not cursing them. Maybe the best thing we can do to show love to them is to
pray for them. It is in prayer that
spiritual battles are fought and won! Even if our “enemy” is not changed, our
hearts will be filled with the compassion of God and a river of joy will begin
to flow through us!
Starting
now, let’s be determined to think before we speak; pray before we open our
mouths; ask God to fill our thoughts and tongues with His words, His love, His
compassion and His joy. “Let
the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy
sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
Speak words of joy….even to your enemies!
