Have you
had your Joy Juice today? It truly helps to heal the hurt spots of your heart.
People are
human and imperfect. We all make mistakes.
We open our mouths and, if we’re not careful, angry words spew out and
hurt those we love. Families can be divided
because of careless, hurtful words; friendships are damaged. When someone hurts
us, often we want revenge and try to retaliate. It is true that “hurting
people, hurt people.”
How does
God want us to respond to those who have hurt us? Is it okay to seek
revenge? There was a television series
recently with the title “Revenge”. Each
episode chronicled the characters seeking to “even the score” by betraying and
backstabbing one another. It was nothing
but one hurtful act after another….and NO BODY won! Just the
opposite…..everyone was hurt.
The Bible speaks plainly about the issue of revenge. (Romans 12:19): "Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." We need to be reminded that God does not need us to tell Him when or how to do His job!
In Luke 6:36, Jesus said, "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
Release your hurt
and accept His healing joy.
