Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Drink in the
joy of the Lord and be prepared for all different kinds of people who God will
bring into your life.
We
encounter people throughout our day with all kinds of personalities. Some of them we really enjoy and we have a
lot in common. Others are very different
from us, and we choose not to travel in the same circles….so to speak. Then there are those “sandpaper people” as
Mary Southerland calls them, who rub us the wrong way! Maybe it’s a co-worker
or someone we don’t have a choice about being around. It may even be a family member. Mary reminds us that we should look at these
“sandpaper people” as gifts from God!
She goes on
to explain: “God has used these difficult
relationships as catalysts in my life through which He has lovingly upset my
comfortable plans and purposefully redirected my self-ordered steps. The
results have often been chaotic and unsettling, but always life changing.”
Are we willing to look at these
challenging people in our lives as gifts from God? When we look at them through the eyes of
Jesus, we will see them in a different light.
They were created by Him with
their individual personality and quirks….just as we are! Maybe WE are the “sandpaper
person” in someone’s life. How do we
want to be treated?
Let’s allow
God to use each person He brings along our path to polish us and refine us into
a more beautiful Christian….one who radiates His joy and reflects His love in
all situations.
Offer
a large serving of Joy Juice to a “sandpaper person” today and watch as the joy
of the Lord begins to soak in!
“Put on your new nature, created to be like God--truly righteous and
holy.”
Ephesians 4:24 NLT
