Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Make sure it’s
the real stuff…not an artificial substitute!
Silk
flowers can sometimes be so authentic looking that it’s hard to tell that they
are not real! It’s not until we get near enough to touch them and smell them
that we can determine if they are imposters! “Up close and personal” exposes
them for what they really were.
Could this
be true of many so-called Christians?
From a distance they look genuine….but “up close and personal” their
faith proves to be just “talk”. It’s not
real…it’s artificial.
·
It’s easy to tell “plastic or paper” Christians.
They may called themselves believers, but their language, actions and everyday
lifestyle speaks loudly and “tattletails” on them.
·
The “silk
flower” Christians are more difficult to discern. They look really good on the outside; they
attend church regularly and may even help with some of the church activities.
But during the week, they don’t live any differently from non-believers.
When people
look at you and me, do they see the “real thing”? A Christian who loves God with “all
our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength and with all our mind'? And
would our friends, family and co-workers say that we exemplify love for our “neighbor
as ourself.'" (Luke 10:27) Let’s
ask God to help us be authentic Christians…Filled with genuine JOY that blossoms
and blooms in others’ lives!
Be the “real thing”…an authentic, joy-filled
Christian!
