Stuffed with JOY!

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Hope you are “stuffed” with JOY!

Most of us are probably stuffed in another way. We may have eaten waaaay tooo much yesterday as we sat down to our Thanksgiving Feast. Was it the traditional “turkey and dressing” meal with all the trimmings…..or was it was something more to your liking?  The fact is, most of us had more food than we needed.  Aren’t we blessed to live in a “land of plenty”?  How often we take these kinds of blessings for granted and forget there are many who are not as fortunate.

As we thank God for our abundance, let ask Him to make our hearts tender toward those in need. It could be someone in your neighborhood or at work.  I can testify as a former teacher and school counselor that there are many children and families who are in need. With the holidays upon us, it’s a good time to reach out to those who would be grateful for an extra act of kindness. Are you willing?

            Deuteromony 15:11 reminds us:

“For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying, you shall open your hand wide unto your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.”

And then Proverbs 14:31 says:
“Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,
but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.”

May our hearts desire to honor God by showing kindness to those in need.  It will bring a special kind of joy to your life!
