Clothe Your Children in Prayer

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Put on your joy jacket and be prepared for whatever may come today!

Good moms and dads are concerned with how to dress their children appropriately for the weather.  Now, I’ll admit….we moms probably are more concerned with their “cuteness” than dads usually are!  But we all can agree that on cold winter days, they need warm clothing and a coat or jacket to protect them from the frigid temperature.  On hot summer days, we strive to put them in clothing that will keep them comfortable in the heat.  We desire for our children to be protected from the weather, so on rainy days we may provide raincoats and umbrellas…sometimes even rainboots.

May I suggest another kind of clothing that is appropriate for all types of weather and for each stage of life?  It’s the clothing of prayer.  We can and should pray for our children, daily….no matter what age or stage of life.  My sweet mother STILL prays for me and I’m a sixty-four year old grandmother, myself.

Prayer is “one size fits all”; it’s always in season and just the appropriate style. What a gift! A gift of joy; a gift of God’s protection and provision.            Using scripture is a good way to pray.
“May our children, like Jesus, grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. May they live lives worthy of you, Lord, and may they please you in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of you (see Luke 2:52; Colossians 1:10).

Joyfully and fervently, clothe your children in prayer.
