Have you had your Joy Juice
today? Drink in the delicious taste of
joy with great humility.
Many
times throughout the Bible we find verses that speak of “humility”.
- 1 Peter 5: 6 says: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,”
- Proverbs 22:4 : “The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.”
- And one of my favorites…Philippians 2:2-3 “Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
We
are to be humble. That’s the opposite of
what the world teaches.
As missionary Robert Morrison from China
stated: “The great fault, I think, in our mission is that no one likes to be
second.” The world has yet to see what could happen if everyone lost the desire
to get the glory. Wouldn’t it be a marvelous place if nobody cared who got the
credit? – J. Oswald Sanders
True
humility is when we forget ourselves and put others before our wants and needs.
It has been said that humility is Christian clothing that never goes out of
style.
Those who exemplify
Christian humility exude JOY in the Lord!
